Workshop on “EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING THROUGH VIRTUAL LABS” @ SUCET Mukka
Virtual Labs project is an initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India under the aegis of National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). This project is a consortium activity of twelve participating institutes and IIT Delhi is coordinating institute. It is a paradigm shift in ICT-based education. For the first time, such an initiative has been taken-up in remote‐experimentation. Under Virtual Labs project, over 100 Virtual Labs consisting of approximately 700+ web-enabled experiments were designed for remote-operation and viewing.
The workshop was held on 17th November, 2018. The team members of CSD – centre of system design, NITK surathkal were the chief guests of the function. Dr. Shreeprakash, DEAN, SUCET Mukka presided over the function. Dr. Praveen, Coordinator, SUCET was present in the program. Dr. Suma Bhat, HOD, Mechanical Department and Faculties organized and coordinated the program.
Workshop was conducted on simulating various experiments through virtual labs situated in N.I.T.K surathkal. Students of final year Mechanical Engineering participated in this workshop. The students were made to trigger various experiments through logging in VLAB website. The whole session was held for a duration of 3 hrs.
Vote of thanks was delivered and Mementos were presented to VLAB team as a token of gratitude by Dr. Suma Bhat, HOD, Mechanical Department.
