Workshop on “Hands on Training on Assembly of 2 Wheeler Components”

A workshop on “Hands on training on assembly of two wheeler components” was held at Srinivas University College of Engineering and Technology, Mukka on 22nd September 2018. The workshop was jointly organised by Department of Mechanical Engineering, SUCET, Mukka and M/s Sai Radha TVS, Udupi and Mangaluru. Sai Radha TVS is the authorised main dealer for TVS two wheelers in Udupi and Mangalore.  The workshop saw an active participation from the students of Mechanical Engineering, who involved themselves in the dissembling and assembly of the two wheeler vehicles. Both the geared (TVS Apache RTR) and auto geared (TVS Jupiter) vehicles were used for the purpose.  
            The members of expert team from Sai Radha TVS were Mr Carlton M. A. Sequeira, Service Manager, Mr Linus Lobo, High end bike advisor, Mr Anthony D’Almeida, Senior advisor, Mr Shiv Ganesh, Floor Supervisor, Mr Deepak and Mr Mohan, Expert Grade Technician. The team guided the students in a step by step manner to disassemble and assemble the vehicle. They also explained the functions of the various components during the process. They also highlighted on the importance of regular service for increasing the life of the vehicle. They informed the students about various technological advancements in automobiles ie two wheelers. The students interacted with the team and cleared all their doubts regarding the same.   
            Dr Shreeprakash B. Dean, SUCET, Mukka presided over the inaugural ceremony. Speaking on the occasion he encouraged the students to acquire as much as practical knowledge by actively involving in the workshop. Mr Carlton M. A. Sequeira, Service Manager, Sai Radha TVS, Mangalore was the chief guest for the function, stressed on the importance of industrial exposure, especially for the budding engineers. Mr Varadaraj S., faculty coordinator gave the overview about Sai Radha TVS and the objective of the workshop. Dr Suma Bhat, HOD of Mechanical Engineering, delivered the vote of thanks. Dr Praveen B. M., Coordinator, Srinivas University and Dr Ramakrishna Hegde, Vice Principal were also present during the occasion and congratulated the department for organising such workshop. Mr Nirmith Salian, Final year, Mechanical Engineering was the master of ceremony for the program.
