Inauguration of SRISTICA 2017-18 @ SUCET
Inauguration of “SRISTICA” (SRInivas STudents Innovative Civil Association) 2017-18 was organised at Srinivas University College of Engineering & Technology (SUCET), Mukka, Mangaluru on 3rd November 2017. Er Sri Rajendra Kalbavi (Project Director, Dakshina Kannada Nirmithi Kendra, Surathkal) and Sri Lokesh R Amin (Proprietor, Srinivas Bulk Carrier, Kana, Surathkal) were the Chief Guests of the inaugural function. Dr. Anil Kumar (Registrar, Srinivas University) presided over the function. Dr.Shreeprakash B (Dean, SUCET), Dr. Ramakrishna Hegde (Vice Principal & Head of Civil Engineering Dept), Prof. Yogesh G (Faculty Coordinator, SRISTICA), Sri. Abhijeet D. Naik (President, SRISTICA) and Sri. Sunil Arjun Chavan (Secretary, SRISTICA) were present on the dais.
Sri. Abhijeet D. Naik administered the oath to the newly elected Office Bearers of SRISTICA 2017-18. On this occasion, Local Schedule of Rates prepared by the final year Civil Engg students was released by the Chief Guests and dignitaries on the dais. In order to promote and motivate the Civil Engg students, certificates were awarded for the students for achieving top results in the 1st, 2nd & 3rd year B.E Civil Engg examination and also for the winners of Civil Engg model making and Collage competitions organised by SRISTICA.
Dr. Ramakrishna Hegde has given an overview of SRISTICA in transforming the career of Civil Engg students of SUCET Mukka. Dr. Ramakrishna Hegde said that SRISTICA is providing a sound platform for the Civil Engg students to enrich their technical knowledge, to develop leadership abilities, to excel in the field of civil engineering with innovative activities. Dr. Hegde also said that good number of technical activities will be organised in the coming years to benefit the student community. Prof. Shrinath Rao has given bird’s eye view of activities organised by SRISTICA since 2011 including Technical Seminars, Industrial Visits, Survey Camps, World Water Day and Engineers Day Celebrations, etc.
Chief Guests appreciated the efforts of Civil Engineering students in preparing sand model of Garland Canal (Linking of Indian Rivers), model of Dam, India Gate, Glass Bridge and other Civil Engg related models.
Dr. Anil Kumar and Dr.Shreeprakash B. expressed their satisfaction over the activities organised by SRISTICA in the past 7 years, and advised the students to get actively involved in the activities organised by SRISTICA and to make the best use of it in order to achieve good leadership abilities and overall personality development.
On this occasion, Er. Rajendra Kalbavi was felicitated by SRISTICA and Dept. of Civil Engg for his outstanding contribution in the field of Civil Engineering since more than 2 decades. Prof. Yogesh G. welcomed the Chief Guests and the gathering. Sri Abhijeet D. Naik and Sri. Sunil Arjun Chavan introduced Chief Guests to the gathering. Mr. Varun Dubey and Ms. Anusha Machado were the Master of Ceremony of the inaugural function. Sri. Prasanna Rao announvced the names of prize winners. Prof. Bhavani Shankar delivered Vote of Thanks. Er. N. Somashekhar (Technical Manager, UltraTech Cement, Mangaluru) and Er. Manish Kadri (Technical & Marketing Manager, CADD Centre, Mangaluru), HODs of other departments, Faculty members and students of Civil Engg Department were present.
